"Work is life. Life is work. That... is all there is."

Doug Kompagni was at one time known to be the humblest and most charitable of individuals. However, after an accident one night, doctors discovered he had a mutant gene that allowed him to work incessantly without sleep. As Doug was predisposed to long work hours, he took those findings as a blessing. He felt as if he was called by God to lead others to follow his work ethic but soon came to find that his counterparts were far too inferior. 

In Episode 2, we no longer see the Doug Kompagni this man once was but rather we find a creature known as The Company, ego inflated and confidence instilled. As one who transcended the human design, The Company transformed into a belief system manifested. While projecting workaholism in the ethos of the nation, Gelo, Peter, and Soy soon have a face off with him in efforts to bring the people of Seoul back to their senses.
